What is redistricting?

In free countries, people move, and populations shift accordingly. When people move, and populations change, it is necessary to redraw electoral boundaries so that they have around equal population. This process is called redistricting.

What about gerrymandering?

Gerrymandering is a type of redistricting where a group in power draws electoral districts to advantage a group and disadvantage another. The most common type of gerrymandering is partisan, but other types exist, such as racial and bi-partisan (incumbent protection) gerrymanders.
